Junior Pairs Knockout Handicap at Queen’s Park.

Rules to be applied:-

Ropes will NOT be used to reduce the playing area on the bowling green.

Instead, as last year, a maximum 37metre (40 yards) limit rule will be applied to every end in the competition. Diagrams will be displayed to illustrate the significance of 37 metres in relation to the area of the green.
Observers will be on hand to advise and ensure that this rule is obeyed.
This should bring the competition within the capabilities of all participants.

Every player will be handicapped according to the following:-

(a) The player’s published League Average Statistics as on the internet on 14th June
(b) The League Division in which he or she has played most games.
(c) Queen’s Park players will receive an additional negative handicap. The handicap for each Pair will be the sum of each individual’s handicap.

All games will be played to 21 up.

The names of all entrants to the competition need to be received by R. Fowler by Sunday 14th June so that the draw can be made, handicaps allotted and the draw and starting time published in the Rochdale Observer on 20th June.

Refreshments will be available during the competition.

The Rochdale Observer junior bowls KO took place at Hare Hill Bowling Club on Sunday 10th May 2009.

The early rounds were run on a ‘Round Robin’ basis to ensure at least 2 or 3 games for each entrant and produced the quarter finalists for the event.

The quarter finals results were:

K. Kirby 21, J Jolly 5
S Harvey 3, J Hynes 21

Semi Final results:

K. Kirby 21, N. Mercer 16

The Final will be played on the day of the senior event finals between Jack Lindsay (Thistleyfield) and Kyle Kirby (Buersil)
