League Pairs
Junior Pairs - Queen’s Park, 18th May 2014.

Eighteen juniors (9 Pairs) entered this event on a day of continuous sunshine with a good crowd of spectators. The competition was run on a Round Robin basis (of seven ends per game) in two groups and the two best points scores from each group went forward into the Semi Finals. Players from B Division and under 10 years had 2 handicap points added to their final totals.

The Semi-finalists were Liam Mercer & Charlotte Buckley, Chris Bennion & Kyle White, David Kerrigan & Lucas Murphy and Kieran McGarry &Lucy Murphy.
The Semi-finals and Final were played to 15 Up.

The Finalists were David Kerrigan & Lucas Murphy and Liam Mercer & Charlotte Buckley.

The Final, watched by a good crowd was well contested with some excellent bowls from all four players. Whilst David & Lucas went into a 6-0 lead, they were overtaken at 7-6 and from then on there was never more than 2 points difference between the scores as each pair in turn either drew level or took the lead!! At 13-13 it was anybody’s game until David & Lucas put two good bowls up to win what was an enthralling Final
Well done - All Players.

Junior League Pairs - Queens Park
Start Time 10.45 am

This year it is again planned to organise this competition on a Round Robin basis with

pairs in four groups . Each pair will play other pairs in their group over a set number of

ends.

Queen’s Park is a large green and a bowling length limit of 40 yards (37 metres) will be

applied to all ends so that this should be within the capabilities of all players. Diagrams

will illustrate what a 40 yard distance looks like on a Scale Plan of the Green. Any pair

exceeding this limit will receive a warning and replay the end. Repeated over bowling will

result in forfeiting that end by two points.

Players from B Division teams will receive a positive handicap of +2 per player.

Players aged below 10 years will receive +2 points per player. These handicaps will be

applied to the final totals after completion of all the Round Robin games

The winning pair from each group will go forward into the Semi-finals.

The Semi-finals and Final will be played to 11-up.

It would help in formulating the groupings and preparing scorecards if entries for this

competition could be forwarded to R. Fowler by Wednesday 14th

By Telephone 01706 659453 or email r.fowler357@btinternet.com or post. Please include

d.o.b. of players and Division played in.

Refreshments will be available on the day
