Minutes of the Previous Meeting 17th July 2009
The Minutes of the previous meeting held on 17th July 2009 were accepted as a correct record by the delegates.

League postions 2009
Jim Barton presented the final tables for 2009 confirming the ‘A’ Division champions as Alkrington ‘A’, and ‘B’ Division champions as Woodlands Bullough Moor.

League Competitions
Tim presented a list of the trophy winners for 2009 for agreement by the delegates. These were confirmed with an amendment to the Triples Runners-up who were R Diggle / J Parry / K Gledhill.

.After some discussion the delegates agreed that for players to qualify for the divisional average prize they should have played in at least 2/3 of the games in the division. (10 = 7, 12 = 8 etc.)

It was confirmed, therefore, that the winners for 2009 were; ‘A’ Div. James Hynes and ‘B’ Div. Niall Mercer.

Junior Observer
Winner confirmed as Kyle Kirby with a 21-20 win over Jack Lindsay. Once again the junior final was an excellent advert for our juniors with a very close game.

Presentation Day
Jim Hynes reported that unfortunately the Middleton League were not in favour of a joint presentation, therefore the delegates agreed to make arrangements for just the Rochdale teams.

After discussion it was agreed that the presentation will be held on Sunday 27th September at Thistleyfield (subject to confirmation by the club).

The day will consist of a representative match (12 a side) with teams made up of players from each club in the League, followed by a buffet and the presentations. Start time to be around 2.00pm.

Rule Changes
There were no changes for the meeting to consider and the Acting Secretary requested clubs to let him have any proposals for the next meeting so that they can be fully considered prior to the AGM. However, the delegates briefly discussed the re-introduction of 5 starts for ‘B’ division to prevent any 21-0 scores being recorded.

Club Mark
The Chairman and Secretary reported on a meeting they had with Barry Woodburn, Sports Development Officer from Link4Life the Rochdale MBC Leisure Trust. The subject of the meeting was the possible accreditation of clubs for ‘Clubmark’ which establishes a standard of competence for sports clubs to demonstrate that they are accredited for accepting juniors into their clubs for coaching and playing.

The main outcomes from the meeting were that the leisure trust was keen to support organisations such as ours but clearly had little knowledge of our sport. He outlines the possible availability of grants for training of coaches and other legislative areas that were becoming more relevant to sports organisation. In particular this covers the need for Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) checks for volunteers and organisers at club level.

The Chairman and Secretary felt that it may be best to see if the League can go through the process of becoming accredited for Clubmark to assess the process before helping individual clubs to follow up on accreditation.

It was agreed to invite Mr. Woodburn to the next meeting to outline the process and advantages of the scheme to all the clubs.

Any Other Business
No further business and the chairman closed the meeting at 8.45 pm.

Chairman (Tom Belfield)
